May Wild Studio a social arts practice - Rebecca May & Michael Wild (since 2017), creating artworks challenging the conventions between visual art & traditional craft making. Using storytelling, collaboration & participatory projects, our work raises awareness & encourages conversation around themes of storytelling, nature & climate change & local/global environmental issues.

We create 3D artworks that communicate the raw materials of the natural and urban landscapes we live in.

Combining traditional craft methods with manufacturing technologies we develop new sustainable methods of making that look for a more meaningful connection to the natural world. Our Creative practice is driven by our core values :

Handcraft - Nature - Storytelling - Community - Collaboration

Our work has been shown in the UK and internationally including London Design Festival and British Ceramics Biennial through solo/group exhibitions and installations. Our co-create participatory art projects include Radical Kindness Oldham Council/Action Together Org, Many Types of Graces for RNCM Manchester, Tame for Tameside Council, Ekhaya/Home/Wom for The Old Courts Wigan/English Heritage.

May Wild Studio also design and deliver workshops that share our knowledge of hand crafting skills in a range of craft disciplines to a public audience. We also have an extensive range of teaching experience in FE/HE education and have led community based art projects that focus on environment.
